What is an open badge?

Open badges are web-enabled versions of a credential, certification or learning outcome which can be verified in real-time, online.

How does my certification get displayed as a badge?

We have partnered with Accredible to convert your demonstrated learning outcomes into a digital badge. Accredible’s platform issues and manages these badges in accordance with the Open Badges standard maintained by 1EdTech (formerly IMS Global). This standard ensures that your competencies are digitally managed, shareable, and verifiable.

Why did we partner with Accredible?

We partnered with Accredible to leverage their comprehensive digital credentialing platform, which enables us to issue and manage secure, verifiable, and shareable digital badges and certificates. Accredible collaborates with over 2,300 organizations worldwide, providing a trusted solution for recognizing and showcasing achievements.

How will I know if I've earned a badge?

You will receive an email notification from studentsuccess@codingtemple.com with instructions for claiming your badge and setting up your account.

What if I don't want my badge to be public?

If you prefer to keep your badge private, you can adjust its visibility settings through your Accredible account. This allows you to control who can view your badge and manage your privacy preferences effectively.

Is there a fee to use Accredible?

No. This is a service we provide to you, at no cost.

What's to keep someone else from copying my badge and using it?

Accredible’s digital badges are designed with security features to prevent unauthorized use. Each badge is linked to verified data hosted on Accredible’s platform, ensuring that the badge is always associated with your identity and credentials. This unique link makes it impossible for someone to falsely claim your certification by merely copying the badge image.

Where and how can I share my badge?

You can share your badge directly from Accredible to LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook; over email; embedded in a website, or in your email signature.

Can I export badges issued through Accredible to other badge-storing platforms?

Yes, you can export badges issued through Accredible to other badge-storing platforms. Accredible issues digital badges that comply with the Open Badges standard, ensuring compatibility with various platforms. To export your badge, download it from your Accredible credential view as a PNG file. Once downloaded, you can upload this file to your preferred badge-storing platform.
