What is WIOA?

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) is a federally funded program designed to improve the nation’s workforce system by helping individuals with barriers access education, training, and employment opportunities in high-demand careers.

Coding Temple, a WIOA-approved training provider, aims to equip students with the skills needed for in-demand tech careers. Applicants approved under the WIOA program are entitled to a reduced base program cost and up to a $13,295 grant (full tuition) through the WIOA funding.

How do I qualify?

Minimum requirements to qualify for Coding Temple WIOA:

  • Current resident of Illinois
  • Currently unemployed
  • Proficient in English
  • Must be 18 years or older

Individuals of any occupation or technical knowledge level can enroll in this program, if the requirements above are met.

Eligible participants

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) authorizes authorizes employment and training services for adults, dislocated workers, and youth through formula grants administered by the Department of Labor (DOL) to states.

States may use a portion of these funds to carry out any of the statewide employment and training activities such as implementing innovative programs and strategies designed to meet the needs of all employers (including small employers) in the State and developing strategies for effectively serving individuals with barriers to employment.

Coding Temple WIOA is available for our Full-Time Software Engineering bootcamp.

Our Full-Time Software Engineering bootcamp is a 10-week program designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to become a professional Software Engineer. Application and basic skills assessment

Submit your application – it takes less than 5 minutes. After you apply you will be sent a basic skills assessment. Our 50-question assessment is meant to test your cognitive skills. Don’t stress! We want to know if you can think like a programmer, if you can we will take it from there!

Apply to WIOA

  1. Select the job center closest to where you reside
  2. Call your local job center and say “I am interested in applying for a WIOA grant to attend Coding Temple.”
  3. Apply for the WIOA grant directly through your local job center’s website.
  4. Keep in contact with your admissions representative at Coding Temple and let them know which job center you applied through.

Once the eligibility forms are complete on both the job center and Coding Temple’s end, an admissions advisor will be in touch. You will gain access to our prepatory work, slack channels, and 1:1 support before class.
