About the program

Is this like an internship?

No. An internship is a job. The Tech Residency is an 8-week production sprint where you build a real AI system from scratch, under real constraints, and earn proof that you can do it. You’re not working for a company—you’re building your portfolio and proving your capability.

Do I need to have completed the AI Bootcamp first?

You need equivalent AI engineering knowledge. If you’ve completed our AI Bootcamp, you’re ready. If you’ve learned AI engineering elsewhere, we’ll evaluate your background. Contact admissions to discuss.

What if I fail a gate?

You get one remediation attempt per gate. If you don’t pass remediation, you exit the program. This is rare—the gates are hard, but they’re designed to be passable if you’re putting in the work.

How much time does this actually take?

4 hours/day, Monday-Friday, plus flexible weekend hours for remediation and prep. That’s roughly 24 hours/week during the program. If you’re currently employed, this is a significant commitment.

Can I do this part-time?

No. This is a full-time sprint. The gates are weekly, the pace is intense, and you need to be focused. If you’re currently employed full-time, you’ll need to take time off or negotiate reduced hours.

What if I don't pass?

You exit the program. We don’t believe in participation trophies. But if you’re putting in the work and hitting the gates, you’ll make it through. The program is designed to be hard but achievable.
